The Product Person #41 — Easy first customers
hi, Anthony here! Every week, I find articles and posts around the web about product development and how to build great products. Then I summarize and share them here.
Let’s get to it!
There’s no benefit to you if your first customers are hard-to-get.
Focus on those who are willing to pay, not folks that say stuff like “I’d pay, but only if it were free.”
If you have to spend a lot of time convincing them, then they probably shouldn’t be your first customer.
🌟 If you’re solving an actual problem, then just focus on those who experience that problem intensely, not those that “sorta kinda” have the problem.
If no one really has the problem, then that’s a different issue. (Time to go back to the drawing board)
🔗 This post was inspired by this new YC video on how to get your first 10 customers. It’s a 3 min video. I recommend the watch.
